You learn from this great organization how cope with your loss. Some days it feels like yesterday. Unfortunately, the pain of grief never leaves us.  If you're fortunate you learn how to manage it, when to block it and when to accept it.

 I continue attending Stephy's support group every week, it has become a essential part of my life. It's a place where you share loss and heartache with many others in similar situations. It helps you experience and learn various tactics on how to live on. How to handle the 100' wave when it comes out of nowhere and hits you. Our team "Barbara will always be with us" will always be present. I will always honor her for the amazing person/wife she was. I miss her every day of my life. The push to move forward is very challenging which makes Stephy's place my savior. I continue to go every Wednesday and so does many others. To sit with a an amazing group of friends that are trying to process horrific hurdles in their life. Stephy's place gets us through to the next week. Many of us wish everyday was Wednesday.  Grief is a measure of how much you love someone. We learn to work through it, not around it. The void our Barbara left behind could never be filled, we try to move forward as she would want us to. Stephy's Place has gotten me where I am today. The Money raised from this event will be used to provide free peer support groups for those suffering the loss of a loved one. Life will never be the same, but knowing she is with God eases some pain. She loved her family and friends so much, she was grateful for all that tried to help her. Always remember, Barbara never wanted to leave us, she just didn't know how to stay. You are always with me. Rest in peace my love.
