Dear friends and family,
Last year, I ran for the Jerusalem 10k Marathon raising tzedakah for much worthy causes. This March, I will once again be running and have chosen to raise funds for Team OHEL-Camp Kaylie.
After becoming a foster family over 7 years ago, my family has taken in children for various lengths of time and been on call at a moment's notice. My siblings and I saw first hand how much effort goes into an organization that works so hard keeping Jewish children in Jewish homes during difficult family times and giving and sharing with a foster sibling as if they were our own sibling.

An excerpt from one of my recent essays describes my views....
"A few years back my family and I decided to take in a foster child. As excited as I was, I didn't know anything about this boy who would now become my brother. Did he like sports? Would we get along? Did we like the same foods? I was completely unaware of this boy's background. The one thing I did know was that he never had that "older brother" figure to guide him through life. Right then and there I decided that I would play that role. As the youngest in my biological family, I wanted to be the best “older brother” I could be, so I taught him everything a boy needed to know. We discussed sports, school, and friends. Teaching him the vital pathways through life not only assisted him, but strengthened my leadership skills as well. I would not be the person I am today if I didn't have the opportunities that I had and if I did not face the challenges that I did.
Assertiveness to some is a flaw, but to me, it's far from that, it's a present that I wish to never let go."
Members of the community are facing challenges every day. OHEL is there for individuals facing their challenges and crisis. It is a haven of protection and support. They provide critical services to thousands of children and adults including foster care, outpatient counseling, residential services, school based services, abuse prevention services and summer camps such as Camp Kaylie.
Please partner with me supporting this incredible cause. All donations are 100% tax-deductible. Please contribute by clicking on the donate button. Thank you for supporting me and in doing so, helping us, as well as the children and families of OHEL whose suffering is truly immeasurable. Your dollars are saving lives.
Proceeds from this event will go towards Camp Kaylie, a groundbreaking fully inclusive camp for kids of ALL abilities, with unparalleled programming, sports and facilities.
