  1. How do I begin? Want to Participate? Just register here and join us!   2. When is the event? The chili cook-off will be held from 6-10 PM on Saturday, November 10,2018.
  3. Where is the event being held? Great Lakes Event Center located at 540 S St. Clair St. Toledo, OH 43604.
  4. Who can attend the event? Since we are serving alcohol, we ask that all attendees and participants be over the age of 21 years old.
  5. What are the funds raised being used for? All proceeds will go to The HOOVES Program to fund transformational workshops and retreats that facilitate healing for our local veterans - which are provided to them at no cost.
  6. How can I participate? You can enter your best chili recipe or you can buy a ticket to attend and vote for the best chili (and drink beer of course).
  7. When does registration close? Registration for chili contestants will be open until October 15th.Only 10 individual and 10 restaurant chili entries will be accepted, so sign up before all the spots are filled. Tickets to attend the event will be sold until November 11, 2017. However, space is limited and only a certain number of tickets will be sold. We encourage you to purchase tickets before we sell out!
  8. If I choose to make chili, what do I need to know? For individual entries, we ask that you make at least 1 16-quart roaster of your favorite chili recipe. For restaurant or business entries, we ask that you make 2 16-quart roasters of your famous chili recipes. All contestants are asked to bring serving spoons and extension cords if possible. We will have a few extras available just in case.
  9. If I am making chili, when should I arrive at the event? For restaurants, we ask that you bring your chili to set up between 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM on the day of the event. For individuals, please arrive with your chili between 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM on the day of the event. Don’t forget to bring serving spoons and extension cords!
  10. What does my admission fee get me? Admission fee covers unlimited chili tasting, a flight of 4 beer samples, great live music, and even better company.
  11. Will more beer be available for me to taste? Yes, tickets will be sold at the event to purchase more flights of beer or full size beers.
  12. Besides awesome chili and cold beer, what else can I expect at the event? The event will include live music, silent auction items, 50/50 raffles on the hour, and a raffle with 3 grand prizes.
  13. Do I need to be present to win the raffles? For 50/50 raffle drawings, you must be present to win. However, the big raffle drawing does not require you to be present to win as long as you fill out your mailing information and phone number on your raffle ticket.
