2. What is the Dunbar Dash?
The Dunbar Dash is a fun run (give or take 2 miles) on the Dunbar grounds. You do not need to be a runner to participate – you can walk, skip, jog, run or slither (although we think that would hurt). While students and their family members wiggle through the course, they will get environmentally-safe color thrown at them at several different stations along the course. Students pay $5 to register to participate in the dash; $10 to participate and get a cool Dunbar Dash T shirt. Family members can also participate: $5 to run and $15 to participate and get that cool shirt. There will be prizes for the top fundraisers; the prize for finishing the quickest: bragging rights.

3. What does participating mean, exactly?
By registering to participate, you’re pledging to participate in an afternoon of fun and community building, all the while contributing to future successes of our school, its teachers and its students by trying to raise funds.  We are happy to have friends and family volunteer to help out as well. Please email [email protected] if you’d like to volunteer in some way.

4. When is the deadline to register?
The deadline to register is by April 20. Late registrations really limit your ability to fundraise and earn prizes, so registering early is in everyone’s best interest.

5. I’m a Dunbar student but don’t have the $5 needed to register. Can I participate?
If you are unable to register for financial reasons, please let Mr. Hamlett in guidance know ASAP. Some of our sponsors have kindly provided registration scholarship money.

6. How can my sponsors submit payment?
Online contributions can be made by credit card on the runner’s personalized page found on this website. Just make sure to tell your sponsors to select your name from the list of runners. Donations made in cash and/or a check (made payable to Dunbar PTO) can be brought to school in a sealed envelope with the child’s name to the main office. Donations will be collected and tallied each day starting Monday, April 8.

7. Is there a refund/exchange policy?
Yes. If a donation was made accidentally or for the wrong amount, simply make us aware of the issue and we will be happy to make any necessary refunds, changes or corrections. Race registration fees are not refundable.
