3. What Does Pledging to the Trek Mean, Exactly?
By committing to this event, and pledging to raise money for its success, you are helping raise invaluable funds for Bnainu to enhance the quality of life for children, teens and families struggling with educational difficulties.
We are dedicated to this underserved population and all proceeds raised from the Breaking Barriers event will allow us to build on the monthly programs offered and hundreds of individuals we currently work with. With your support, we can make a difference and teach people in our community the life skills they need to live more productive, meaningful lives.
We wish you all the success possible. Train, set and achieve new goals, enjoy the race… and get all the sponsors you can, so when you cross that finish line, we will all be winners – you, Bnainu, and all the people in our community that need our help!

4. How can my sponsors submit payment?
Online contributions can be made by credit card on the runner or team’s personalized page created for you during the registration process. Any sponsor can also click here and select your name from the list of runners. To make your job even easier, we provide wording for solicitation emails that can be sent out to your contacts.

5. I am concerned that I might not be able to raise the required funds. Will I be able to do it?
Even if you've never raised money before, our materials and strategies will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others. Experience has shown that it is not only possible, but enjoyable, to set and reach your goals. Please refer to the sample letters found on your personal fundraising page center, that explains the programs that Breaking Barriers supports, and you will be surprised to see how quickly friends, family, and co-workers will respond to your request to help this wonderful cause. Just remember to make it personal as well, as you want them to know that they are sponsoring YOU and YOUR efforts! And, as many companies offer charitable donation matching programs, make sure to ask your sponsors to check with their employers, as it will help you meet your goal ever more quickly.

6. Is the Run only for Runners?
No! Breaking Barriers is in fact not a run, but an Extreme Obstacle experience, designed as a day of fun, food and fitness for the whole family. The race itself is different than a standard 5K, with 20+ different obstacles spread throughout the course. The event attracts hundreds of family members and friends and supporters from the community who look forward to it as a fun and exciting community gathering.
In addition to the obstacle races, Breaking Barriers will feature an authentic Texas BBQ lunch, a kids carnival from 10:30-1:30pm, music and more. Participants enjoy additional benefits that include pre-race stretches and warm-ups led by professional fitness staff, precision race-recording, free tee-shirts and other great giveaways; trophies for the top three winners in each age category, and medals for child runners under 10 and more.

7. Do You Participate Alone or as a Team?
Either! Participants can complete the trek alone or create their own team to run a rugged obstacle course in the beautiful Tranquility Manor Farm. See question #1 for quick links to get started.

Absolutely! It might take a little training, but many of our participants are first-timer runners. Whether you are a novice or a serious athlete, we will be here to inspire you every step of the way. We have professional trainers on hand to provide clinics and personalized instruction, and can go over the obstacles you’ll face beforehand so you’re well prepared. We are also offering other motivational programs to help you train, attain new fitness goals, and build endurance, so you can maximize your performance.
And on the day of the event, you can take part in pre-race stretches and warm-ups led by our professional fitness staff. Our hope is to inspire you to achieve ultimate “personal wellness” and, at the same time, participate in a competitive and family friendly athletic event that will allow you to spend meaningful time together with family and friends.
