About the Dash
The 2019 5th Annual BAF Disaster Dash will be held in concurrence with the 44th Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop, an event with international attendance that will be hosted July 14 - 18 by the University of Colorado Boulder Natural Hazards Center. Whether you are attending the workshop or are a local community member looking to contribute to a good cause, we invite you to join us for a fun run!

The Disaster Dash 5K is an easy jog (or walk, if you prefer) in the beautiful Colorado outdoors near the Omni Interlocken Hotel. Proceeds from the run support the Bill Anderson Fund mission to expand the number of professionals from historically underrepresented groups in the fields of hazards and disaster research and practice.

The Bill Anderson Fund is proud to have begun a Collaborative Communities Initiative in 2018 in which they engage with established civic organizations in marginalized communities to expand their knowledge of impacts and options connected to their sustainability.

If you can't attend the Workshop this year (or just don't want to run!), the Fund offers the opportunity to participate virtually—including the option to support individuals and teams who are in the race.
