2. What are the Tournament Rules and Schedules?
Each team can consist of 3 or 4 (1 being a substitute) players (depending on how many people sign up). There will be two rounds of games and then each team will be seeded and enter into an elimination round. Rounds will continue until we have a winning team.
Each game will be to 11 points or 10 minutes long. The team must win by only one point. Each basket is worth one point.
3. What does pledging to the Tournament mean, exactly?
By committing to this event, and pledging to raise money for its success, you are helping raise invaluable funds for the annual Caleb Challenge which runs from Nov. 28 - Dec. 7. You will be supporting the Torah that is learned in Caleb’s memory and the surge of growth that occurs in Yeshiva for all those that participate in the Dapim for Caleb challenge.
We have set a goal of $600 per team ($200 per person) but obviously we hope that you will be able to raise even more funds. There will also be a lavish catered Melave Malka for the participants.
We wish you all the success possible. Train, set and achieve new goals, enjoy the evening… and get all the sponsors you can, so when you play, we will all be winners – you, and all the donors, players and learners participating in Caleb’s z”l memory.
4. How can my sponsors submit payment?
Online contributions can be made by credit card on the players's personalized page found on this website. Just make sure to tell your sponsors to select your name from the list of players.
5. I am concerned that I might not be able to raise the required funds. Will I be able to do it?
Even if you've never raised money before, our materials and strategies will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others. Experience has shown that it is not only possible, but enjoyable, to set and reach your goals. Please refer to the sample letters found on your personal fundraising page center, that explains the program that the Tournament supports, and you will be surprised to see how quickly friends, family, and co-workers will respond to your request to help this wonderful cause. Just remember to make it personal as well, as you want them to know that they are sponsoring YOU and YOUR efforts! And, as many companies offer charitable donation matching programs, make sure to ask your sponsors to check with their employers, as it will help you meet your goal ever more quickly.
6. Will there be trophies for the winners?
Absolutely!
Besides the winners of the actual 3on3 tournament, there will also be a 3-point shootout for the 5 top fundraisers for the challenge.
7. Do I register alone or as a Team?
Either! Participants can register alone or create their own team of three to play together. If you would like to play but haven't found other guys to make a team, we will create teams from those guys who register alone, or we will assign you as a fourth to an existing team of three and guys will be able to rotate/substitute).
8. Can I bring my family to the games as spectators?
You are welcome to bring your spouses and children. It is a catered event so if you would like to bring more people to the Melave Malka please be in touch with our office in advance at [email protected] to make arrangements.
9. Is there a refund/exchange policy?
Yes. If a donation was made accidentally or for the wrong amount, simply make us aware of the issue and we will be happy to make any necessary refunds, changes or corrections.
10. Where is the tournament taking place?
At TABC High School which is located at 1600 Queen Anne Rd., Teaneck, NJ 07666, United States. Looking forward to seeing you there!
