Life can change in a moment. And that happened in January 2019 for Tom. Vision changes sent him for a lasik consultation. At the consultation they said that he needed to see his eye Dr. A week later he went to the eye Dr and was sent immediately for an MRI then admitted to the hospital within hours. 

An orange sized tumor (grade 2 meningioma he named Timmy) was found and partially removed. During the surgery Tom lost a large portion of his vision. 

He continued with radiation and so many therapies to try to help him with vision, coordination and daily life skills. 

Life is very different for Tom (and fam) now. Things that once came easily can be a huge struggle. Though he is no longer able to work he enjoys his garden, time at the lake, music (always The Current) and checking out local breweries with friends and family.

 

Tom & Nat (his wife) now choose to live life to its fullest. Whether that's traveling or just exploring each day is a gift.
