Habitat for Humanity York County is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and builds strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable housing. Affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities.
Founded in 1985, Habitat has completed 28 durable, energy-efficient, affordable homes and weatherized more than 145 homes in York County. Volunteers support almost every facet of Habitat's programs and are critical to helping us build and weatherize homes, change lives, and transform our communities. Habitat homes and weatherization projects could not be completed without the generous financial and in-kind contributions donated from a variety of sources throughout York County.
Our 29th home is nearing completion in Springvale and the Limerick home begins in July. These homes not only make a life changing difference for Habitat partner families, they are community assets. Each build contributes over $125,000 to the local economy. Habitat homeowners have paid a cumulative total of an estimated $825,000 in property taxes throughout York County.
Habitat homes truly build home, community and hope.
