About the Founder
Holly Robinson (A survivor and inspiration)

Holly suffered 2 strokes in April 2012 and has since been driven by her passion to educate others about the warning signs of stroke for preventative purposes. It can leave a strain on relationships if awareness isn’t achieved.

Her closest friends, family, and co-workers describe her as someone who "steps up" and handles things; some even know her as “Sarg” (short for Sergeant). Her ability to overcome challenges has been an inspiration to many. She has often put her own needs in the back of her closet and attends to others. Holly has always volunteered herself; even when she had nothing tangible to give. She gave herself mentally, physically, and emotionally without reservation. With this type of personality, experiencing a stroke wasn’t just a set back for her and her immediate family. It was a set back for extended families in the workplace, and in her community, as well as in her network of philanthropy.

Holly is the passionate founder of Step Up To Stroke and prior to that she founded the Dress Fabulous Project to help a community of young women build their social confidence. Her organization is designed to provide proper attire for them to attend milestone events in their lives such as school proms, cotillions, and other important events.

When Holly experienced a stroke, it was if communities of deserving people were paralyzed. Holly is recovering every day due to God's timing and her faith in prayer. Holly is selfless in her services as an organizer, a mentor, a loving mother, and a dear friend. She has been an inspiration to other stroke survivors. Step Up 2 Stroke is a journey of many miles, but it starts with one single step. Let us aid Holly in this journey by committing to that first step on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014.
