Molly's Story

Hi~
My name is Molly Lichtenstein. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with Chiari and Syringomyelia. After my first surgery at 16, I realized there was a huge lack of awareness in the medical community and the general public. That needed to be changed! I have participated and organized walks for the benefit of Chiari and Syringo since 2009. This is my fifth year with The American Syringomyelia and Chiari Alliance Project (aka ASAP.org)! Every year we look at what we did the previous year and what can be changed to make this year better. I need Your help to make the 2019's Walk, Roll & Golf the best one yet! Our goal is for our Walk, Roll and Golf to raise at least $30,000. Last year was an incredible year! Thanks to all your support, we raised over $30,144! This is HUGE! Without you all, NONE of this would be possible and is helping to fund much needed research!

Since my first surgery in 2009 I have had 45 brain and spine surgeries and have been diagnosed with many other underlying issues: Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome, Hydrocephalus, and 4th nerve palsy. This year has been a tough one, with some unexpected surgeries, but the thought of raising money for research and one day a cure, keeps me going! As this journey continues, my view on things has changed. But the one thing that remains the same, is the fact that we NEED more research for better treatments and hopefully one day a cure! I am passionate about furthering research for Chiari and Syringomyelia. I look forward to "Walking Rolling & Golfing” for a cure!
