It's that time again! I'm training to participate in my 2nd 5K Run for Veterans. A year has passed since I ran in honor of my Veteran Husband and the other Veterans in our home town. A lot has changed since then! Our middle Daughter Kala, has recently passed Army Basic Training, completed Airborne School and successfully become a Paratrooper Soldier! I can't even begin to explain how proud we are as her parents! At her Basic Training Graduation, we so badly wanted to help our Daughter carry her heavy, bulky bags as we were so anxious to take her home for her Holiday Leave in December. Right as we went to take some "weight off her shoulders", off in the distance hollers a Drill Sergeant "Are You Strong Wexler?!" Our hands quickly separated from her bags and our brave girl responded "I AM STRONG DRILL SERGEANT"

This organization means a lot to our family. My husband is a Vet and our Daughter will one day be also. We are a military family looking to give back with the donations we so graciously request.

I am so excited to be participating in the McHenry County Patriot Run 5k!  Money raised from this event will be used for the Veterans in McHenry County.
