Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you may know, my sister Hilary and brother-in-law Tyler had their first son Oliver born still on January 25, 2013. After 34 weeks gestation, with no medical issues and a normal pregnancy this was a shocking and extremely difficult to understand. While we are now blessed with my nephew Carter and his new baby brother Asher, it is a tragedy that will live in our hearts forever. It is their hope that other parents and babies will not have to go through such a devastating loss of a child. Stillbirths can be prevented, but more research needs to be funded!
This year, the Star Legacy Foundation NY Metro Chapter will be hosting Lets Not Be Still! Run/Walk 5Ks, there will be 2 locations and dates for this event. The South Salem, NY (Westchester County/Fairfield County CT border) 5K will be at Meadow Pond Elementary on Saturday April 30th and there will also be a 5K in Port Washington, NY (Long Island) on Sunday April 17th. Please join us for both or one event or sponsor Team Oliver Cohlan Hughes (see links below)
Many of you may have sponsored me or participated in the Oliver 5K Run/ Walk last year. I am hoping I can call upon you again to help make a difference or encourage you to get involved for the first time this year as part of the "Let's Not Be Still" 5K Run/Walks.
