About Us

Who We Are

The Star Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to stillbirth research and education. We are a community of parents, families, and friends of stillborn babies who are dedicated to reducing the number of families that endure such a needless tragedy.

Our Mission

The Star Legacy Foundation mission is to increase awareness, support research, promote education, and encourage advocacy and family support regarding stillbirth.

Our Vision

We believe there is great hope for the future to prevent many stillbirths in the United States and around the world. We envision that through the utilization of technology, education, grassroots efforts, and partnership, we can empower families and health professionals to identify and protect vulnerable babies.

About the Star Legacy Foundation NY-Metro Chapter: Established in July 2015, The Star Legacy Foundation New York Metro Chapter is a motivated group of parents, grandparents and friends of stillborn babies. Our mission is to educate the medical community and public about stillbirth, raise funds for research and provide support to families who are dealing with this loss. Our chapter encompasses parts of NY, CT, and NJ. We believe that many of these tragedies can be prevented, and we hope to ultimately lower the number of stillbirths in the New York Metro area and beyond.

Our History: After many of us met for the first time at Oliver's 5K in May 2015 in South Salen, NY, we knew we needed to do more to make a difference and raise awsareness about stillbirth. We had shared experiences in not being able to find an organization in the NY metro area who supported stillbirth, education, awareness, research, and support in the way that Star Legacy Foundation does. We quickly knew this needed to change and we are so glad that we joined with Star Legacy Foundation to be able to spread the mission in this area.
