JAG COLOR JOG: Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE?     LMS Middle School Campus
WHEN?         Thursday, November 3, 2022
Opening ceremonies at 3:30 pm; Ends at 4:45 pm

1.      What is the “Jag Color Jog" and how long is it?
The Jag Color Jog is an approximately 2 mile fun run on the LMS campus. You do not need to be a runner to participate. You can walk/skip/jog or run! This is not a timed race, and there are no prizes for first place finish. While the students jog their way through the course, they will be bathed in environmentally safe color at several different color stations and get to listen to fun music. The course can be comfortably walked in under 40 minutes and then we will end with a snack and drink.

2.      Do you need volunteers?
YES! We need your help! Please contact Anne Ownby at [email protected] or use the signupgenius link that will be available in our eblasts or PTO social media!  If you don’t want to volunteer then please come to the finish line to cheer on the joggers and take some colorful pictures!

3.      My student is not going to be in town on November 3rd or is unable to participate. Can he/she still fundraise and earn prizes?
Of course! You will still need to pay the $5 registration for your child in order for them to fundraise and be eligible for prizes.

4.      I'm an LMS student but I don't have the $5 needed to register.  Can I still participate?
Absolutely!  In fact, WE NEED YOU to make this event a true success!  If you are unable to register for financial reasons, please let your Guidance Counselor at Linkhorne Middle School know ASAP by calling the main office at school or emailing your counselor.

5.      Can my student bring my family to run?  Friends?
This year the Jag Color Jog is limited to current students.

6.      Is there a deadline to register?
Please register by Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 2:50 p.m.  Late registrations really limit your ability to fundraise and earn prizes so registering early is in everyone's best interest!

7.      Are there prizes for raising money?
YES! See your flyer in the registration packet for all the AWESOME prizes! First place fundraiser wins $300 Amazon gift card, Second place wins $200 Amazon gift card and third place wins $150 Amazon gift card! There are also other prizes!

8.      What should my child wear? Does the color wash out?
Your child needs to wear comfortable running clothes and sneakers. The Jag Color Jog t-shirts are short sleeve so if it is going to be cold that day you might want a long sleeve shirt under it.  The students will be given a chance to change clothing before the run. The color is environmentally friendly but may stain, especially if it gets wet. So, please choose clothing that you don’t mind getting colored.  Most color, however, will wash out in the wash. If you WANT the color to stay in your shirt please see instructions on this site: http://www.wholesalecolorpowder.com and click on the “blog” tab and scroll down to the video on saving color in your color run t-shirt.  If skin gets stained it should wash out in one or two scrubs in the shower. If you are worried about your car seats you might want to throw an old towel over your seats for the ride home.

9.      What is the schedule for the event?
All registered runners will stay at school after the bell rings on Nov. 3rd. If your child earned a tshirt or sunglasses they will be given them at the end of the day but before the race. They can change clothes before the opening ceremonies. At 3:30 pm the race will kick off with warm ups and a few fun events. The jog will begin by 3:45.  Students must be picked up or accompanied by 4:45pm, after closing ceremonies.

10.  Where do I pick up my official t-shirt?
All LMS students earning t-shirts and other incentives will receive them after school on November 3rd when they check in for the run.

11.  What does sponsoring a Runner mean, exactly?  How will donations be used?
When you sponsor a runner you are supporting the Linkhorne Middle School PTO which in turns provides much needed services, programming and items for the Linkhorne Middle School community, teachers, and students. In years past PTO funds have been used to purchase a new scoreboard for the gym, band and PE equipment, books for 6th grade, math games for the school and funds for each department.

12.   Is there a refund/exchange policy?
Yes. If a donation was made online accidentally or for the wrong amount, simply make us aware of the issue and we will be happy to make any necessary refunds, changes or corrections.  Registration fees, however, are not refundable.
