MY STORY
I am so excited to be participating in Pittsburgh's 6th Annual Walk/Run To End Brain Tumors. Money raised from this event will be donated locally for brain tumor research and clinical trials for patients that insurance does not cover.

2 years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Thankfully, mine was benign and removable, leaving me deaf in one ear and residual balance issues. My tumor led me to Joanne....a woman I had never met, but shared her story and her hope with me, giving me strength and courage I needed. Joanne is 5 years post surgery a d deaf in one ear and has balance issues. My tumor led me to talk with and encourage Meghan of Run Foss Run :) in her journey. Her surgery was just 1 year ago and more invasive then mine, leaving her with partial vision loss. She has inspired me to RUN.....becauseI CAN. I also run for Mikayla....the young daughter of a friend who lost her battle to her inoperable brain tumor. I run for my friend Kim, who has entered hospice, my late aunt Donna who also had a brain tumor. I run for 'T' who has a brain tumor and is terrified. I run for my kids....they are watching!!

It is easily overwhelming. When I get overwhelmed I tend to shut down. But these tumors...these PEOPLE....mean something. Meghan has inspired me. ENOUGH. Enough excuses....enough of feeling overwhelmed...enough of brain tumors claiming our loved ones. ENOUGH.
