MY STORY
I am so excited to be participating in the 2023 9th Annual BAF Disaster Dash 5K. Taylor Lightner joined the Bill Anderson Fund as a Fellow in 2021. From 2022 to 2021, she serves as the Culture Co-Chair of the BAF Student Council. In addition, she also worked with the writing student committee. At Virginia Tech, she serves as the Graduate Coordinator Assistant for Disaster Resilience and Risk Management (DRRM), where she co-creates curriculum for graduate students from various education backgrounds that focus on transdisciplinary topics such as interdisciplinary collaborations, community engineering, and resilience.

Money raised from this event will be used to promote and support hazard and disaster mitigation for communities of color and other vulnerable populations. Please help by sponsoring me.

RAISING MONEY FOR...
The 2023 9th Annual BAF Disaster Dash will be held in concurrence with the 48th Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop, an event with international attendance that will be hosted July 9-12 by the University of Colorado Boulder Natural Hazards Center.

Proceeds from the event will support the Bill Anderson Fund mission to expand the number of professionals from historically underrepresented groups in the fields of hazards and disaster research and practice. Funds raised during this event ensure the delivery of robust programming for our Fellows and Alumni. Join us in July and run or walk where you are to send a clear message on the vital need for additional representation in our field.
