About Us

The Leeba Fund is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization which operates  to ease the suffering of some of Israel's neediest and most neglected individuals and families.  Our projects are geared towards Holocaust survivors, single mothers, indigent young couples, orphans, adolescents from broken homes and children in Israel's development towns and periphery. We provide these deserving but unfortunate people with some important basic and essential necessities that they would otherwise lack. Every recipient is carefully and respectfully vetted by a caring welfare social worker who has personal knowledge of their difficult situation.
Our relationships with local welfare officials on a grassroots levels ensures that the neediest individuals are recipients of our giving. We believe that efficiency and transparency are sacred obligations of those who are entrusted with charitable funds.  All of the Leeba Funds administrative expenses are paid by a generous donor so all funds donated, will be distributed to the Fund's beneficiaries.

The proceeds of this event will be used to fund three of our important projects.

Coats for Cold Kids: We distribute thousands of warm new winter coats to poor children throughout Israel.  These are children who come from families who literally lack the ability to buy them a coat.  For a mere $18, we can provide a child with a very high quality coat that will keep him warm through the winter and give him/her the sense of dignity that most of us take for granted.  A gift of $1800 will keep 100 kids warm.  How often do you get the chance to do so much for so many for so little?

Vouchers for Orphans and Needy Adolescents: We provide vouchers for teenage orphans and other teens from broken homes to purchase clothing and other basic necessities.  What is unique about these vouchers is that, rather than receiving their clothing in a humiliating fashion from second hand shops or surplus donations, it enables these kids to go to the same popular stores as their peers shop in and experience the same sense of pride and independence as their more fortunate friends.  In addition, we have negotiated special discounts in many popular stores to enhance their purchasing power. The vouchers are for a value of $200.  A gift of $2000 will provide 10 teenagers with the joy and self-esteem that come with finally having a little of what all their friends have always had.

Holiday Food Assistance for Single Parent families: Women in Haredi communities who have the courage to end abusive and dysfunctional marriages are often tragically ostracized by the very communities that should embrace them.  These women bear the full brunt of supporting their large families while being denied access to the wide support network enjoyed by the mainstream community.  In other words, these unfortunate families have nowhere to go.  The welfare social workers, who have intimate personal knowledge of each family, turned to us in desperation and we readily agreed to take on this project.  The Leeba Fund now provides food vouchers for hundreds of such families three times a year during the Chagim to help alleviate their poverty and loneliness.   Your kindness will enable us to make a vast difference in the Simchat Yom Tov of these needy and deserving families.
