I am participating in the Walk/Run To End Brain Tumors 5K in honor of my father, Krzysztof, who passed away after an 8 month battle with GBM. He was so positive and determined to beat the cancer. He loved his family more than anything, and he was always there supporting us, being a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
There is no cure for certain brain cancers. Money raised from this run will be used for brain tumor research, and hopefully one day all brain tumor patients will have a chance to be cured and live happier, longer lives.
Today nearly 300,000 people are diagnosed each year in the United States. 30,000 or 10% are children. Brain tumors are often deadly, impact quality of life, and change everything for patients and their loved ones.
