In honor of my beautiful mother and best friend who we lost 10 1/2 years ago to a cancerous brain tumor, I am running a 5K on May 21st. My awesome husband is running it with me. Brain cancer can affect anyone at any time, and takes the lives of many every year. My mom loved to run, and her and I finished two half marathons together! She approached everyone and everything with kindness, compassion, positivity and optimism, and was always motivated for a challenge. For those of you that don't know, she worked as an RN helping deliver babies and also in the NICU. She absolutely loved the team of nurses she worked with, and would still be working there I'm sure if she was still with us. She is dearly missed by so many, and by me every single minute. To encourage brain cancer research for a cure and in her memory, it would mean the world to me if you are able to donate a small amount in memory of my mom! Any little bit helps, even if it's small!
