My uncle Mark was one of the funniest, strongest, and most charismatic people I've ever known. He taught me about the importance of hard work, family, and good skin care. Despite a courageous fight, he was taken from us too early by glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer that kills an estimated 13,000 people every year.
Glioblastoma has a median survival of 10 to 12 months from diagnosis. In 1980, the median survival was 4.9 months, so in 40 years, we haven't come very far. Two year survival is an abysmal 30%. My uncle lived 8 months after he was diagnosed, and we miss him every day.
Please help me honor my favorite uncle and godfather's memory by raising money to fund research on how to treat and cure glioblastoma!
