Habitat for Humanity York County is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Since 1976, Habitat has helped more than 13.2 million people obtain a safer place to sleep at night. In fiscal year 2017, Habitat helped nearly 3.5 million people improve their living conditions, and an additional 2.6 million now have the potential to do so.
Habitat for Humanity York County is a non-profit housing organization that brings together low-income families, volunteers, donors, and communities to create safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities for low-income families. Founded in 1985, Habitat has completed 28 safe, energy-efficient, affordable homes and weatherized more than 130 homes in York County. Our latest home was completed in May in Wells. These homes not only make a life changing difference for the partner families, they are community assets as well. Over the past 31 years. Habitat for Humanity homes have contributed a cumulative total of an estimated $825,000 in property taxes to municipalities throughout York County.
