I was diagnosed in April 2021 with Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). I have been in treatment ever since, which will be ongoing. There is no cure, only management of the tumors. It is a rare type of cancer and more research is needed.
Because of this I am excited to be participating in the 2022 Strides for Stripes Zebra Walk Across America. The event itself is a 'virtual' walk on 11/20/22. This year I would like to plan an in-person walk on that day. I'm not a good planner, but I will update anyone interested as I figure out details.
This cause is very important and has a special place in my heart. Every stride we take is a step in the right direction to improving the lives of thousands who suffer from Neuroendocrine Cancer (NET). Since 2003 it has been the passion at NCAN to educate and support the NET community by raising awareness of neuroendocrine cancer, providing support for caregivers and people with NETs, and funding NET cancer research. Strides for Stripes is one way they do all that with your help. Money raised goes directly to programs that assist NET patients, such as the NET Cancer Hotline, Patient Conferences, Support Groups and FREE information packs.Please help by sponsoring me. Together we will make a difference.
