MY STORY
There is nothing more tragic than watching a helpless child lose a parent to death. Nowadays, the enormously high divorce rate has resulted in a scenario wherein children are losing both parents, not because the parents are dying, but rather because sadly, when couples go through a divorce, all too often, the focus of their lives tends to drift away from the ones who are getting hurt the most: their children. The divorcing couple are concentrating so intensely on their own problems vis-avis the divorce, that they spend little if any time with or on their children and the children’s tremendous problems resulting from the divorce. The split thus is not only between the two warring spouses, but rather the children themselves end up being literally split as a result of the battles between the husband and wife.

Children become terribly frightened, they are afraid to speak, they do not know to whom they can turn for advice and sympathy, there is no one to help them with homework, no one to take them shopping or to a sports event, and they literally have no one with whom they can talk.
Based on Lois’ mantra of always watching out for the oppressed, underprivileged and needy, and armed with her drive to take action on behalf of these terribly neglected children, we present to the community, “Project MOSK”–Mend Our Split Kids.

MOSK’s goal is to provide substitute special services to children of divorced homes. Such services will include:

*Pairing children of a divorced home for mentoring with adults, many of whom are themselves products of a divorced background.
*Counseling by experienced professionals.
*Taking kids to ballgames, accompanying them to religious services on Sabbaths and Holy Days.
*Buying seasonal and birthday gifts for these forgotten children.
*Helping them with homework.
*Just being there for them when they need a sympathetic ear.

When we think back upon our childhood memories, we realize how important it is to help provide similar fond memories to these young people who no longer have their parents functionally available for this purpose. Won’t you help us and them by being substitute Mentors for these “torn/split” kids or by donating generously to our project? Lois A”H certainly would have!

PLEASE CLICK ON THE DONATE BUTTON, AND HELP US REACH OUR GOAL OF $25,000.

Equally important, please click on the VOLUNTEER button, and be detailed in terms of when you can volunteer to be a MENTOR, which days or evenings, for how many hours, which activities, etc.

Our "split"  kids will certainly thank you--FOREVER!
