MY STORY
Dear Friends and Family,

For me this is personal, let me explain.

The words BIKUR CHOLIM.  They are synonymous with so much good that is constantly being done across the world. During the current pandemic it has taken on new meeting.

I am privileged to be part of a special organization, Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington, as we work tirelessly to make sure those affected by illness or COVID are taken care of physically, emotionally, and socially. All in the most appropriate and discreet way. All this for local clients and for those coming from out of town for treatment.

My day at work includes checking on the welfare of our clients making sure they have what to make Shabbos with in the hospital, arranging meals for families with sick parents and families with sick kids. The other day we arranged a birthday party for a sick teenager in a hospital. I arrange virtual visits for lonely clients who are under self quarantine, and arrange for their food deliveries. I arrange sleeping and food accommodations for guests at the Bernard Creeger Bikur Cholim house, help clients get free medical equipment loans plus much more.

It gets even more personal.

This year I am riding to support the vital and special mission at Bikur Cholim of greater Washington. This virtual Mitzvahcycle will be unique this year in the way it in the way we participate. The way way BCGW supports our clients this time is just as unique. The increase in our budget due to the pandemic needs is also unique.

With great admiration and appreciation to our amazing volunteers who make this all happen.

Please help me raise much needed funds, and join me in our mission of Bikur Cholim!

With Appreciation,
Rabbi Elie Gayer
