I am honored to be participating in Mitzvah Cycle 2019! The funds I raise from cycling will be used to support patients and their loved ones. When I ride I am taking all those who can't make the ride due to illness along with me in my heart.
If you are not aware- let me explain what BCGW volunteers do : basically , whatever it takes to help patients to focus on healing and recovery and to maximize the amount of quality time they have with those they love and care about.
Illness sometimes strikes without warning and upends the very foundation that people build their lives on. BCGW is the organization that people know they can turn to when they need help adjusting to a new reality while remaining connected to community.
BCGW provides food, cleaning help, transportation , sends visitors , pays bills. You name it, we try to do it.
Yes, I said we because I am now part of the BCGW team.
Will you join me?
The road to hope and healing starts with us.
Route Note: I will take a 36+ mile route (beyond the 26 mile requirements of my registration category) along the historic C&O Canal again, starting two miles below White's Ferry (mile 34) cycling upstream past Point of Rocks to the Cactoctin Aqueduct (mile 52). I will then ride back to my starting point. Also, due to other obligations on September 8, I will do this ride on September 3.
