2. What are the Race Options and Schedules?
The 5k race course is a certified route.  All runs will take place rain or shine:
5k Run/Walk starts 9am
1 Mile Walk/Run starts 9:07am
 
3. What Does Pledging to the Run Mean, Exactly?
By committing to this event, and pledging to raise money for its success, you are helping raise invaluable funds to enhance the quality of life for children, some with special needs.
We are dedicated to this this important community event that allocates all proceeds raised from the Run to several fantastic and important agencies in our county who help children in need.  With your support, we are changing lives in a positive way.  These agencies, Main Stay Therapeutic Farm, CASA of McHenry County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girls on the Run NWIL and Turning Point are a critical part of our community and need support.
We wish you all the success possible. Train, set and achieve new goals, enjoy the race… and get all the sponsors you can, so when you cross that finish line, we will all be winners – you, and all the children in our county need our help!
 
4. How can my sponsors submit payment?
Online contributions can be made by credit card on the runner’s personalized page found on this website. Just make sure to tell your sponsors to select your name from the list of runners. 
 
5. I am concerned that I might not be able to raise the required funds. Will I be able to do it?
Even if you've never raised money before, our materials and strategies will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others. Experience has shown that it is not only possible, but enjoyable, to set and reach your goals. Please refer to the sample letters found on your personal fundraising page center, that explains the programs the Run supports, and you will be surprised to see how quickly friends, family, and co-workers will respond to your request to help this wonderful cause. Just remember to make it personal as well, as you want them to know that they are sponsoring YOU and YOUR efforts! And, as many companies offer charitable donation matching programs, make sure to ask your sponsors to check with their employers, as it will help you meet your goal ever more quickly.
 
6. Is the Run only for Runners?
No! Walkers are welcome too.  This run has become a family tradition for many.  It attracts more than 1,000 runners/walkers from within our county.  Whether you are a dedicated runner or someone who just wants to support the cause, we challenge you to participate in this event. 
 
7.) Is this a timed event?
Yes!
 
8.) Will there be awards?
Awards will be given to the top 3 winners in each age category.

15-19
20-24
up to 70+
Finish ribbons are also handed out to all participants upon their crossing the finish line.
 
9. Do You Run Alone or as a Team?
Either! Participants can run alone or create their own team to run a USATF-certified route through a relatively flat course through out downtown Crystal Lake.   
 
10. Is there a refund/exchange policy?
Yes. We will be happy to make any necessary refunds, changes or corrections if needed. However, race registration fees are not refundable.
 
11. Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available throughout the downtown area.  Please allow sufficient time for parking and registration.
