MY STORY
I am running in memory of my Auntie Bat, Batsheva Yeres ע"ה.

Batsheva was known for her chessed and constant care for others. As soon as she found out that she was blood type O (the universal donor), she took it upon herself to donate blood as often as it was allowed in Toronto and then continued after she made aliyah donating blood to Magen David Adom.

Upon graduation from University of Toronto with a Masters in Occupational Therapy, Batsheva moved to Israel and worked at Aleh in Yerushalayim which is home to children and young adults with complex disabilities and challenges. Batsheva specifically chose this occupation because she was a very caring, compassionate, kind and loving person.

Batsheva was a runner and she ran in numerous marathons in Israel to raise money for various worthy organizations.

While I'm running, I’ll be thinking of her and all the chessed that she so readily and happily did.

It is very appropriate that I am running in her memory for Jewish Caring Network as Batsheva was all about caring and helping people and her yahrtzeit is near the day of the run.

RAISING MONEY FOR...
When serious illness strikes, the entire family is affected. The Jewish Caring Network is dedicated to providing a full range of support services to families facing life-threatening, lifelong, and serious illnesses while preserving their privacy and their dignity.
Funds raised from the JCN 5K Care Run will enable us to provide programs, activities, and services to our families and lets them know we are standing beside them throughout the duration of their illness, treatment and recovery.
