MY STORY

Dear Family & Friends,

I am so excited about running in the upcoming JCN 5K Care Run on June 16th! I am raising money for the Jewish Caring Network, a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, formed in 1996 in order to meet the growing needs of the Baltimore Jewish community.

I will always remember the kindness and generosity of the many volunteers of Jewish Caring Network who helped us when my late husband, Craig Heller, of Blessed Memory, was diagnosed with cancer, during the two years of his illness and after his death in 2002.  This organization continues to help so many people dealing with difficult circumstances.

The mission of the Jewish Caring Network is to provide support services to families diagnosed with a life-threatening, lifelong, or serious illness while preserving the family’s privacy and dignity.  It is their hope that through our programs and services, we are able to enrich our families’ lives, providing support, strength and the knowledge that the Jewish community is standing by them throughout the duration of their difficult time.

All of the programs and services they provide are free of charge.  Each family’s situation is individually assessed, enabling them to cater to their specific needs.  All of the services they provide are free of charge and include, but are not limited to the following: nursing care funds, respite care, Big Brother/Big Sister programs, SundayFunday program, summer camp assistance, groceries and prepared meals, tutoring, birthday and holiday gifts, counseling & grief counseling.

When serious illness strikes, the entire family is affected. The Jewish Caring Network’s programs, activities, and services are designed to help each family member.  When families feel overwhelmed and alone, the Jewish Caring Network reaches out with a helping hand and a loving heart.  The Jewish Caring Network is an organization comprised of caring, compassionate individuals who are sensitive to the unique needs of each individual they help.

Please sponsor me so I can help raise the funds needed to help alleviate the stress that families must face on a daily basis so they can fully concentrate on taking care of their loved one.

Hope to see you at the Starting Line!

Thank you in advance for your support & partnership!
