I am so excited to be participating in the I Have A Voice 5K Inaugural 5K Walk/Run. Money raised from this event will be used for our non-profit partners, that work directly with the children, women, and men affected by domestic violence and abuse.

 

Myself, personally, was a victim, now a victor of domestic violence. From mental, emotional, and physical abuse. Not only do I wear these scars but my pride and joy (my daughter) does as well. She is who she is today bc of what we went through when she was younger. During my weakest times, she watched me be dragged out of my wheelchair, being beat, she watched the blood pour from the side of my head. She doctored me back to health, as we locked ourselves in a room praying for better days. Today we have our own home, where we work to cope with the anger we hold due to the situations we have been through. Each day we look at the scars we have endured, we remind ourselves we made it. For this fact I am here to help those who are victims of domestic abuse, become victors of domestic violence!!
