Team Mimi runs in memory of Amelia "Mimi" Vann, a loving & inspiring mother, sister, friend, and nurse who passed away too soon from stage 4 glioblastoma multiforme in 2007. Despite being given 6 months to live, Mimi surpassed her doctors' expectations and fought bravely for 18 months. Even in her weakest moments, she always put her kids, family and others above her own needs. It is her spirit, perseverance, and compassion that drives our team. Every November, we come together to join the fight against brain cancer so that no one else has to suffer through this debilitating disease that affects a person's motor skills, speech and emotions. This year marks the 13th anniversary of Mimi's passing. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Maddox (11 y.o), Emelia (16 mo) and Callahan (16 mo). We are proud to be part of this community of survivors & families and we look forward to running on Nov 15th!
