Individual Runner Packet Pick Up

The Village Runner Manhattan Beach Location
12 noon to 5pm
Alternately Individuals may pick up packets on Race Day 11/15 at Race Venue-Northernmost Parking lot at Dockweiler State Beach beginning at 6:45AM. 
Team Captains will be picking up for Teams, please communicate with your Captain if you are on a Team.
6:45am- Walk up Registration Opens (no shirt is guaranteed)
7:00am- Opening Ceremony Begins, Group Photos
8:00am- 5K start
8:30am- 10K start
9:30am- Kids Fun Run-Super Hero Capes and Tutus for all participants 
Haley Dries and Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra Quartet.
9:55am- Team Awards-Largest Team, Top Fundraising Team, Top School Awards!
10:10am- Runner Awards (Top 3 Male/Female in Age Division per 5k/10k race plus Overall Male/Female per 10k/5k)
Finisher medals for all runners.(subject to availability-we had to order them 3 months ago and guess on numbers)

First 100 cars in will be handed a parking pass upon entering.
Please Carpool and please arrive EARLY!
The line into the lot gets very backed up the later it gets and there is a short walk from parking lot to race lot.

2. What are the Race Options and Schedules?
There are three races on this fast and flat course with stunning ocean views! All weather event and all runs will take place rain or shine:
5k: 8:00 am sharp
10K: 8:30 am sharp            
Kids Fun Run (very short course) 9:30am
(Super Hero Capes and Tutus for Fun Run Participants) AND-Largest Dance Team wins Beach Photo Shoot after the event, framed team photo and will be featured on web banner on
Expo and event opens at 7:00am-MEET THE iDance4aCURE AMBASSADORS
Walk-up Registration begins at 6:45am (tee shirt not guaranteed)
3. What Does Pledging to the Run Mean, Exactly?
By committing to this event, and pledging to raise money for its success, you are helping raise invaluable funds for Los Angeles childhood and adult brain tumor and cancer research.
We are dedicated to finding effective treatments and ultimately a CURE. The funds raised to date total over a half of a million dollars right here in Los Angeles.  With your support, we can make a difference and END brain tumors and cancer and you help direct those funds!! Team Captains and individual fundraisers can allocate proceeds to specific LA hospitals.
We wish you all the success possible. Train, set and achieve new goals, enjoy the race… and get all the sponsors you can, so when you cross that finish line, we will all be winners – you are our Hero of Hope!
4. How can my sponsors submit payment?
Online contributions can be made by credit card on the runner’s personalized page found here. Just make sure to tell your sponsors to select your name from the list of runners. We have a lso added a printable donation page that you can have donors mail in with a check. All the mailing info is on the form. Be sure the form accompanies the check and/or the team name or name of the individual to be credited appears somewhere on the check/form.
5. I am concerned that I might not be able to raise the required funds. Will I be able to do it?
Even if you've never raised money before, our materials and strategies will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others. Experience has shown that it is not only possible, but enjoyable, to set and reach your goals.  Please refer to the sample letters found on your personal fundraising page center, that explains the  programs the Run supports, and you will be surprised to see how quickly friends, family, and co-workers will respond to your request to help this wonderful cause.  Just remember to make it personal as well, as you want them to know that they are sponsoring YOU and YOUR efforts! And, as many companies offer charitable donation matching programs, make sure to ask your sponsors to check with their employers, as it will help you meet your goal ever more quickly.
6. Is the Run only for Runners?
No! The Run is designed as a day of fun, fitness and HOPE and Remembrance for the whole family. It attracts more than 1200 runners, walkers, brain tumor and cancer warriors, caregivers, medical teams, children and dancers from the Southern California area with people coming all the way from the East Coast. You can walk the 5k or run Kids Fun Run if you are not a runner and parents can run this with the kids.
In addition to the races, the Run features entertainment, our iDance4aCURE ambassadors, food and drinks galore, our Kids Zone with face painting, airbrush tattoos etc.. Runners enjoy additional benefits that include pre-race stretches and warm-ups led by professional fitness staff, tech tee-shirts for 5k/10k, finisher medals for all, super  hero capes and tutus for fun run participants, special medals for top three male/female in each age division and overall male/female awards for each race. Rivals United in Hope Cup (RUH) presented to the Top Fundraising Team, the Largest Team and The Top School! UCLA has won in the past and tied with USC in the past! Who will take home this year's cup?
7. Do You Run Alone or as a Team?
Either! Participants can run/walk alone or create their own team to run this beautiful course!

8. I have never run a race.  Will I be able to finish?
Absolutely! It might take a little training and coaching, but many of our participants are first-timer runners.  Whether you are a novice, signed up for our 5K run/walk, or a serious athlete running our 10K, we will be here to inspire you every step of the way.
And on the day of the Race, you can take part in pre-race stretches and warm-ups led by our professional fitness staff. Our hope is to inspire you to achieve ultimate “personal wellness” and, at the same time, participate in a competitive and family friendly athletic event that will allow you to spend meaningful time together with family and friends raising awareness and funds for childhood and adult brain tumor and cancer research! This is a beautiful day at the beach in Hope and Remembrance!!
9. Is there a refund/exchange policy?
Yes. If a donation was made accidentally or for the wrong amount, simply make us aware of the issue and we will be happy to make any necessary refunds, changes or corrections. Race registration fees are not refundable.
10. Is parking available?  
Please note that the parking lot will be available throughout the morning with intermittent closings before/during each race. Please allow sufficient time for parking and registration. There is a walk to the Northernmost lot after you park in one of the Southern lots. The beach will charge a fee for parking and it is determined by the LA County. We will post it here as soon as they let us know the amount.
11. Can I bring my dog, stroller etc?
Yes, we have many dogs run with their families and strollers are allowed on the course. Just be courteous to those around you, especially our more serious runners.
