So proud of all of you and especially with Nomi involved in this project I am confident this cookbook will be filled with great HGTV recipes (just please warn people to take the proper precautions and not be distracted by Tik Tok mid cooking and set off fire alarms). We love Emunah's children!
Upon hearing that we would not be able to go the children's homes this summer through Kol HaNearim due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were all devastated. For us, every summer that we have been able to visit the homes has been amazing and we couldn't imagine a summer without our kids. However, even if we could not be there in person we were still determined to be there for our kids. After many conversations with heads of different homes we all knew we had to do something to fundraise in order to make sure the homes had the resources they needed to make the summer amazing for the kids, even without their volunteers. We decided that a cookbook would be a great way to raise money We contacted food bloggers and members of the Kol HaNearim family from around the world to give us recipes and help us advertise! Its comforting to know that with all the change in the world, we were able to contribute to making sure our kids had an amazing summer.
None of us actively made a decision to become change makers; rather the first day we stepped through the gates of those homes we simply were. This was because we immediately understood that we had a responsibility to improve the lives of the children we had met and knew that this was something we could never stray from. This understanding came not only from the experience of being with the kids and seeing their lives first hand, but also from the lessons we learned from the amazing leaders and inspiring members of the Kol HaNearim family. The chesed was communicated so simply to us: we are Jews helping our brothers and sisters. This idea has stuck with us each summer as we go back to the pnimiot and kids that have become our homes and families.
100% of every dollar raised from Emunah's Changemakers will go directly towards Emunah's children and families at-risk providing treatment, therapy, and support to change their lives forever.
