Sophia, Giavanna, and Karen here! We know this is an unprecedented time for everyone, and we hope you are doing well. Unfortunately, the shelter is not doing so well...and REALLY needs your help more than ever. Please help us keep the shelter's doors open!
As you know this is a HUGE passion of ours. We strive to give unwanted animals a second chance, but we can’t do it without you. It is a non-profit shelter and does not receive ANY public funding so it has to rely on proceeds from our 2nd Chance Thrift Shop (which had to be closed for 6 months) and private donations from friends like you to raise the $1.5 million for its annual costs.
Despite financial trouble from this year, the shelter continues to operate under a "no kill" philosophy that aims to save every adoptable pet. What you might not know is that hundreds of animals are transferred in from other shelters like San Bernardino, Riverside, Baldwin Park, and Lancaster, just to name a few. Being transferred from a high kill to a no kill shelter is literally the difference between life and death, and is another way in which your tax deductible donation is saving more lives. High kill shelters euthanize due to lack of space, so Friends transfers in animals to help prevent that, but we can only transfer in as much as funding allows.
Please consider matching your gift that you so generously donated last year, or to possibly donate for the first time now. There are so many in need, and we are their only hope. No amount too small, and any amount will show your support and keep us uplifted for this cause. Now is more important than ever. Can you please help us keep the shelter's doors open? Thank you for your consideration. Together we can #savethemALL!
