MY STORY
I am so excited to be participating in the Beverly Levy Walk.   On May 5, 2024 hundreds of women and their families will be joining together to walk to raise funds for Discovery To Cure.  It is imperative that we continue to bring attention and raise funds for the early detection and prevention of women's reproductive cancers.  Money raised from this event will be used for helping to create continued provider education, early detection protection programs, personalized care & cutting edge research for cure and prevention of women’s reproductive cancers.

Two years ago I had a disturbing symptom that sent me to my general practitioner.  After several tests and two more doctors, I was fortunate  to be sent to see Dr. Elena Ratner at Smilow.

I definitely had a tumor and a complete hysterectomy was my next step.

After my surgery it was confirmed that I had ovarian cancer.  Six rounds of chemo were next.  I was nervous about the chemo, but determined to get through.

I am grateful to all my friends  and family who helped to encourage and support me through this time as well as Dr. Ratner's  team at Smilow who helped make a difficult journey seem possible.

It is so important to support Discovery To Cure to raise funds for early prevention of women's reproductive cancers.
