MY STORY
Marilyn Ann Trahan (Josephs) was an amazing woman, mother, friend and loved by so many. At 38 years old she began exhibiting mild signs and symptoms that were easy to pass over and ignore. They were not debilitating, and they were not going to stop her. Until it did. At 40 years old, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and after a long 6 year battle, she succumbed to the disease in 1999 at the young age of 46.

Ovarian Cancer is a silent killer. It is said to whisper, but my fear is, we are not listening, or we aren't forced to, until its too late.

Studies show that the average Ovarian Cancer patient has been sick for more than 24 months and has seen 4-6 physicians, without diagnosis, or with misdiagnosis.

My dream is that the MAT Course, coupled with the exam, will arm the provider community with critical, life saving information about Ovarian Cancer, the linkage between breast & ovarian cancers, family history, genetics and management of high risk patients. This course was designed to educate medical providers, so that we can work to mitigate and eradicate Stage 3 and 4 diagnosis, where the survival rates are daunting - and identify the disease earlier, where the survival rates are promising - or prevent it altogether. 80% of women currently are diagnosed Stage 3 or 4.

With your help, we are confident that MAT will #change the story.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your support of this life saving mission.

With love and affection,
Kaile
