September 22, 2019 marked two years without Jim. When he was diagnosed, the doctors weren't sure if he would even survive the following months. He fought everyday to beat this and never let it affect his spirit and the time he gave to his family and friends. Jim made it to every baseball game, every performance, and every monumental occasion while fighting, and continued to be the life of the party no matter where he was. We miss him every moment of the day.
We are so excited to be participating in the 4th Annual Carolina Strides for Stripes Zebra Walk. Money raised from this event will be used for programs that assist Neuroendocrine and Carcinoid Cancer (NET) patients, such as the NET Cancer Hotline, Patient Conferences, and educational webinars.
Jim was very lucky to be surrounded by extremely caring doctors and nurses, and we were always researching for new treatment options and discoveries for this type of cancer. NCAN has always been a fantastic supporter of Jim and all other NET patients. It is so important that this cancer becomes more well known, as its symptoms can mimic other common medical issues. Supporting NCAN can help us in the fight against NET Cancer, and we will continue to do so in Jim's name.
