Butze, a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, was diagnosed with cancer during his time as a student. Despite his illness, he remained dedicated to his studies and his involvement in Delta Chi. His courage and determination inspired his brothers and the larger Miami University community. The fraternity rallied around him, raising funds for his fund and supporting him throughout his treatment. Though Jacob ultimately lost his battle with cancer, his legacy lives on within Delta Chi. He embodied the values of brotherhood, service, and perseverance that are at the core of the fraternity. His fight brought the Delta Chi community closer together and reminded them of the importance of supporting each other through both the good times and the bad.
