This is our 4th year participating in the butterfly walk, and I walk in honor of my daughter, Anica Rae Tovar. On February 22, 2013, Anica was diagnosed with DIPG- a rare form of show full storychildhood brain cancer. Caring for our daughter for what eventually turned out to be the last 6 months of her life, we were fortunate to have the support of the hospice team, which allowed her to be out of a hospital setting, and in a familiar environment with her siblings and cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, friends, and loved ones. Anica was able to be with her puppy as well as go swimming and play in the comfort of her own home- all things that she would not have been able to enjoy from a hospital bed. Because of my personal experience with my OWN terminally ill child, I feel that ALL terminally ill children should have the option for hospice care, so that they too may feel the warmth of their own home and be surrounded by the love of family in their final days, just as Anica was allowed. Thank you for supporting what I sincerely feel is truly very worthy cause. Please help by sponsoring me in support of these special children.
