I am a student in the Public Administration and Policy program at Old Dominion University pursuing a PhD, with an emphasis on health policy and emergency preparedness. I earned my MPA from UT Arlington and my MPP from George Mason University. I am also a proud Rattler, who earned my B.S. in Journalism from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
My research interest areas include emergency management, community resilience, health policy, and social equity. Currently, I am examining long-term care facility response to natural disasters.
I was the co-recipient of the 2020-2021 Outstanding Doctoral Student in Public Administration & Policy award, the 2020-2021 Wolfgang Pindur Endowed Scholarship in Applied Research recipient and the 2021 recipient of the Academic Scholarship for Studies in Public Administration from the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration.
I am so excited to be participating in the 2021 7th Annual VIRTUAL Disaster Dash 5K. Money raised from this event will be used to promote and support hazard and disaster mitigation for communities of color and other vulnerable populations.
