Hello friends & family!!
I am proud to serve as a volunteer and Co-Director of the Social Services Department at HAVEN Free Clinic
, a student-run clinic at Yale that has provided free primary care for uninsured individuals in Greater New Haven over the past 14 years.
Historically, countless systemic inequities have impeded access to healthcare, and barriers such as housing insecurity and unemployment have only been further exacerbated by the ongoing pandemic. Though our clinic cannot operate in person for now, my Social Services department and I are especially grateful to have the chance via remote tele-medicine to continue supporting our patients through non-clinical circumstances (to complement their clinical care), as well as learning from patients, volunteers, and community partners on how to better grow as an effective and empathetic patient advocate.
Our annual iANDA! 5K walk/run, which will take place this year as a virtual 5K on October 11th, funds 70% of our total annual departmental budget! If possible, please consider sponsoring me in this event, by donating directly on this page or sending funds via Venmo (@ericalin99). Every dollar goes directly toward providing our patients with quality primary care.
Thank you very much for your time -- I am immensely grateful for and continually warmed by your support!
