About Us

In 2010, Penn Stater, Kristen Kattas (now Diaz) - HRIM '10 started the first Phi Gamma Nu Spring Walk to End Brain Tumors with the Brad Kaminsky Founder, Lisa Kaminsky Millar -HRIM '89. Lisa lost her brother, Brad Kaminsky, who also attended Penn State, to brain cancer in 2001. Lisa promised Brad that she would continue fighting for him and all those battling one of the most horrific cancers. Because brain tumor are also the leading cause of cancer death in children, Lisa, Kristen and Phi Gamma Nu had to do more and so this Annual Spring Walk was born to raise funds for much needed brain tumor research. Every year, this 2 mile stroll from the Nittany Lion Shrine to the Bryce Jordan Center and back, allows students, family and friends to see the gorgeous University Park campus while doing something impactful for a very insidious disease. Lisa was awarded the Penn State Alumni Service Award from the College of Health and Human Development for her relentless work in the fight against cancer. The Brad Kaminsky Foundation has donated over 1.6 million dollars to research and continues to raise funds for much needed research each day. Please join us for this beautiful day of Hope!
