What is Bikur Cholim of Baltimore?
Bikur Cholim of Baltimore was started in 1985 by a group of dedicated volunteers to serve the needs of people facing illness in the Jewish community. Since then, this volunteer network of over 400 volunteers have been providing support services to countless individuals and families from the Baltimore community, as well as people coming from all over the world to Baltimore to receive medical care from our world-class medical institutions.
 
When is this event?
The 2020 Biker Cholim Bike-a-Thon and Family Fun event will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2020.
 
Where will this event take place?
The starting point, finish line, & Family Fun event will be at the Beth Tfiloh campus located at 3300 Old Court Rd.
 
How Do I Begin?
Registration opens on Wednesday, March 25th.  On or after that date, click on the button on the home page that says: Register to Bike.  Riders that are registered before Wednesday, June 24th will receive a free Biker Cholim bike jersey, which will be perfect to wear during the ride.  After you are registered, you can now create & manage your own personal page, share your photos, goals & get sponsors. We thank you for making a commitment to Bikur Cholim of Baltimore!  You have taken a great step!

What does pledging to this event mean, exactly?
By committing to this event, and pledging to raise money for its success, you are helping Bikur Cholim raise invaluable funds to channel the chesed of our community to support patients and their families from near and far and lighten their burden by providing food, transportation, visitation, respite, kosher hospitality rooms in area hospitals, dedicated apartments for out-of-town cholim, free-loan medical equipment and other services.

We wish you all the success possible. Train, set, and achieve new goals, and most importantly - enjoy! Get all the sponsors you can, so when you cross that finish line, we will all be winners – you, Bikur Cholim, and all the people in our community and beyond that will benefit from your help!
 
How much money do I have to raise?
The early bird fundraising commitment is $275.  The early bird deadline is Sunday, May 31th.  After the early bird deadline, the fundraising commitment is $360.  Additional donations are not required, but are very much encouraged.  Think of the Power of 10…if you ask 10 friends and family members to each donate at least $10 to your efforts, you could raise $100 or more.  That will make an impact!  With your support, we can continue to carry out our “Mission of Kindness”!
 
How can my Sponsors submit payment?
Online contributions can be made by credit card on the rider’s personalized page found on our website at: http://www.bikercholim.org/.  Just make sure to tell your sponsors to select your name from the list. 
 
Is my sponsor's donation tax deductible?
Yes!  All money raised goes to Bikur Cholim to ease the burden of the ill and their families through a host of services.  Biker Cholim is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  Please email [email protected] to request a tax deductible receipt of your donation.  Please direct your sponsor to do the same once he or she has made the donation to your ride.
 
Can a Sponsor pay by check?
Yes!!!  A sponsor can mail a check made out to Bikur Cholim of Baltimore and indicate the rider's name in the memo line of the check.  The check should be mailed to Raisey Feigenbaum, 2329 Farringdon Road, Baltimore, MD 21209.
 
How long will a 10 mile bike ride take me? Can I really do this?
It could take you anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half depending on your training and level of experience.
Absolutely! It might take a little training and coaching, but many of our participants are first-timers at such an event.  Whether you are a novice or a serious athlete, we will be here to inspire you every step of the way.
 
How long will a 25 mile bike ride take me?
It could take you anywhere from 2 to 3 hours depending on your training and level of experience.
 
How long will a 50 mile bike ride take me?
It could take you anywhere from 3.5 to 4.5 hours depending on your training and level of experience.
 
Is There a Time Limit to Complete the ride?
The Finish Line will close at 12 noon.

What is the Difference Between Signing Up as a Team vs. an Individual Registration?
Signing up as a team is just a great way to have fun with friends while supporting a great cause TOGETHER!
 
What Happens if the Weather is Bad?
This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances.
 
Is There an Age Limit?
Due to safety concerns, all participants ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a participating parent.
 
Is There a Refund Policy?
Sorry, registration fees are not refundable. Please know that your registration fee and the funds you raised will forever change the lives of families facing a difficult medical journey.
 
Is Parking Available?
Free parking is available.
 
Do I need to pay for the BBQ after the ride?
If you meet your $275 commitment, your are invited to attend the sumptuous post-ride BBQ.  It is our way of showing our appreciation for all your effort on behalf of Bikur Cholim.
 
Do I need to pay for my immediate family to attend the BBQ?
If you meet your $500 commitment, your immediate family is invited as our guests to the BBQ.  However, if you don't meet the $500 commitment or if you would like to bring non-immediate family members, please see payment information below.
 
What is the cost for my family to attend the BBQ after the ride?
The cost for family members for the BBQ is $10/person.
 
How can I pay for my family to attend the BBQ?
You can use the link attached here (http://bbq.bikercholim.org) or when you pick up your jerseys and swag bag for the ride.
 
How can my family come to the BBQ for free?
Each rider who raises or donates $500 can bring their immediate family FOR FREE to the BBQ.  This only includes spouses and children and parents if the rider is a minor child.
