Every year, I start my story the same way. I became a Big Sister to give back to my community, but I had no idea that I would get more than I can possibly give!
Although our match has "officially" come to a close, Lilly and I are sisters for life. At the close of our match this summer, we celebrated nearly 12 years of being matched. I can't imagine my life without her. Since our first meeting in 2012, we have been there for each other for every major life event - from school plays and concerts to graduations. Lilly is a permanent fixture in my family and now proudly carries the title of Aunt Lilly to my 2 year old son.
Thanks to the Jewish Big Brother Big Sister Association, Lilly and I have been blessed with the opportunity to grow together and learn from one another.
